Davon and Alec held their Sotterley Plantation wedding on the hottest day of this year! To some, it may seem unfortunate since their wedding ceremony was outside and their reception was in a barn without air conditioning. But the heat and humidity weren’t even a factor for this couple. They embraced the day for everything that it was — a celebration of their commitment to one another and the support and love of their family and friends.

Cherry, peach, blueberry, apple…take your pick! Davon and Alec chose to have a pie table instead of a traditional wedding cake and the results were amazing! I wouldn’t normally dedicate an entire post to pie, but Wildewood Pastry Shop did such an incredible job, I was having a hard time narrowing down these images for Davon and Alec’s full wedding blog post (coming in the next few days). So grab a slice of pie, maybe a little ice cream, and feast your eyes on these delicious desserts!

Tracey and Kurtis chose to have their Charles County engagement session at their family’s farm. And like many farms, we were surrounded by beautiful fields, horses and quite a few bugs! They were both troopers as they endured more than their share of bug bites throughout a rather hot session. But in the end it was worth it and I’m looking forward to seeing them again in about a month when they become Mr. and Mrs.!

This past month, Hattie and Jackson married at Woodlawn Farm. But, had you asked their friends and family if they could forsee this result when the pair first met, you probably would have received a very different answer. Hattie and Jackson’s story is one that proves that first impressions are not always right.

Both swimmers, they met at the pool in college where Jackson was not all that happy about sharing his lane with Hattie, something they can both laugh about now, but initially kept them apart. However, love conquers all, and a few years later, these two are happily co-existing in the pool and beginning the next chapter of their life as Mr. and Mrs.!

Hattie’s simple, yet elegant taste, created a stunning affair!
