Lauren and Brian were one of my wedding couples quite a few years ago and since then they’ve had a handsome little boy. We got together this past month to take some updated photos that reflect their current family. And this is exactly why I love photographing families in addition to weddings! Continuing this journey with my clients and watching their families grow is so much fun. The wedding day, after all, is the beginning of an amazing life-long adventure!

2015 was another amazing year! Thank you to everyone who supported me and my business this year — whether you hired me, liked an image, commented on a post, sent an encouraging word or simply asked how I was adjusting to life with three children (including a newborn) and running a business! After more than a decade of photographing weddings and families, I continue to love what I do, first and foremost, because of all the kind hearts this job brings into my life.  While I begin planning for many more beautiful couples and families in 2016, here’s a look back at some of my favorite wedding images from the year. I’ll share my favorite family images next week.

I was blessed to work with so many wonderful families this fall that I think we’ll run out of days until Christmas before I can post them all here on the blog! Here are a few of my favorites of the sweet W family. These little ones were explorers and as I looked back through these images, I couldn’t help but think of all the great adventures ahead of them that they’ll get to share. I’m so thankful I got to be a part of this adventure with them! (And I’m speaking from recent experience with my own kids when I say that family pictures are always an adventure!)

Today I’m sharing another Bride’s Choice — this is where the bride shares her favorite image from the wedding day and the reason she loves it.

When I asked Christine to choose a favorite from her Woodlawn Estate Farm wedding, she responded that she had two and choosing would be too hard! I love that each of these photographs is so different, yet holds a place dear to her heart.

Here’s what Christine had to say about the two images below: “Well, one of my absolute favorites is the one of my baby brother, Carson, and I.  I love my family so very, very much, and you captured such an endearing, special moment of us reaching out for each other. But, I also love all of the ones of Josh and I, and they remind me of our love we share, and our magical day.”

When Kay contacted me about a family portrait session for her parents, and siblings with their own families, I knew she had her work cut out for her. Coordinating schedules with 15 people, plus myself wasn’t easy! And then coordinating everyone’s outfits on top of that was quite the task!

But I couldn’t be more pleased with how this session came together! Beautiful smiles, a gorgeous farm as the backdrop and one big happy family equals picture-taking success!
