The family that works together, celebrates together! It’s not a saying, but in this case, it should be. When Kateline decided she wanted to marry at her family’s farm, everyone pitched in to fix up the old barn and carve out a place for the ceremony and reception sites. The work they did, along with the efforts of Serendipity Bridal Events, transformed this quiet country farm into a gorgeous wedding venue. And this sweet couple deserved nothing less!

I loved every detail of Kateline and Justin’s wedding — the gift Kateline received the morning of the wedding (a bracelet with numerous charms each selected by a member of her immediate family, her groom and step son), the sunflowers that hung over the arbor where they married and how the teal pick up truck popped against the colors of the field in the background (just to name a few)! The beauty of the day was made complete by this sweet couple and watching how content they were with one another. This family did good!

The great news for everyone else is that this farm is now a wedding venue! So if you love Kateline’s wedding as much as I did, you could have your wedding here too!

The following vendors contributed to this beautiful Southern Maryland farm wedding: decor, wedding planning and dress, Serendipity Bridal Events; ceremony and reception venue, family farm; hair, Katherine Rae Bridal Beauty; videographer, Thuis Studios; photographer, Jill Christine Design and Photography; cake, Almond Creek Cakery; band, Hero; DJs Marc Shubrooks and Jason Thompson; and Bailey’s Party Rentals.

I’m excited to start a new series on the blog! Week after week, you get to see my favorite images from weddings, but I thought it would also be nice to hear directly from my brides. So this is a chance for them to choose their favorite image from the day and tell us what about the photograph makes it so special to them.

First up is Jenny. You may remember her lovely Historic St. Mary’s City wedding — the one with lots and lots of laughter! Well it should be no surprise then that Jenny chose an image where she and Shane are laughing. Here’s what she had to say about her favorite photo (pictured below) taken during their first dance:

“This photograph is so us. Me laughing hysterically and clearly so joyous, and Shane laughing at me laughing.  We love to dance together (although neither of us is particularly skilled!) and I just can’t imagine a photo capturing us and our lovely day better than this one.  Plus.. look how handsome he is!”

For years I’ve wanted to create a video for my business — a way for clients to get to know me and to also explain how I approach photographing both weddings and families. That way, you as a potential client, would have a pretty good idea of whether we’d be a good fit for one another before you send the initial inquiry email. The main reason it took so long to complete this project is that, this girl, much prefers being on the back side of the camera rather than the front! And while that is still my preference, with the amazing help and talent of Paul Kwak of Paul Kwak Productions, I’m so happy to have checked this item off of my to-do list!

Along with Paul, I’d also like to thank Blushing Blooms Floral Design, and my models Jen and Justin and the M Family for making this video so beautiful!

“Sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in your heart.” – A. A. Milne, Winnie the Pooh

I believe this to be true and I think this mommy would also agree! Just having given birth to her third baby boy, her heart and home are full of love and joy. Welcome to the world Baby Quinn! With two older brothers, you’re in for lots of fun and adventures along the way.
