I think you can learn a lot by looking at the world through the eyes of a child. You’ll see things or think about them in a way you didn’t before. Zoey is such an inquisitive little girl, and adorable too! We had fun exploring the streets of Annapolis with her as she pointed out everything that interested her. And she did a lot of pointing inbetween posing for the camera 🙂

I’ve been photographing this beautiful family for a few years now and eventually I will win over all three of these sweet chilren so that they look forward to having their pictures taken! But in the meantime, this photo session is proof that if you’re patient, you will get a smile, or two, from even the most skeptical client! And just one smiling child, yet alone three, is priceless.

I can’t think of a better gift than giving a memory, an experience you will always have and be able to hold close to your heart. And to have those memories photographed and preserved, that’s even better!

When my friend Candice’s mom retired after years of dedicated service to the government, her children chose to give her a family photo session to celebrate this momentous occasion. Not only was the experience of getting everyone together special, the photos that resulted were just beautiful. And that has much more to do with the people in them than any talent I may have contributed. This family is one of the kindest I know and will make you feel like you’re a part of their family whenever you’re fortunate enough to be in their presence. I’m pretty sure you can feel the love just by looking at these pictures!

When Shaina and Patrick look out their front window, they can see the exact spot where they exchanged their marriage vows — standing at the foot of a gazebo, admist their family’s beautiful vineyards. I think it’s pretty special that they will wake up to this view each day and be reminded of how their story began. A story that included a tractor ride to the ceremony, mixing of white and red wines to signify their union, and lots of rain that didn’t dampen the spirit of the reception at all.
