When I first moved to St. Mary’s County, I had a difficult time adjusting to just how far away from the city we were. The heart of DC used to be a 30 minute drive, and now it’s about an hour to reach the nearest shopping mall. While we may not enjoy the overwhelming restaurant and entertainment choices that come with city life, the longer I’ve lived here, the more I have come to appreciate what this place offers — beautiful countryside, a body of water at nearly every turn and charming old churches. When I arrived at St. George’s Episcopal Church, it was love at first sight. This quaint church had the most beautiful setting and on this particular day, gorgeous light as well! It was the perfect place for two kind hearts, such as Jenn and Eric, to marry.
